In the vast land of ours, one of the important means through which we communicate with men living in every nook corner of the country-nay even remotest parts of the world-is letters. Letters can be put in different classes. Some are of personal nature, others dealing with commerce and business, some carrying complaints and yet some applying for jobs, etc. But, letter writing is no more as simple an affair as it used to be nearly half a century ago. This is an age of sophistication. For instance if one desires to bag a contract, he has got to be well mannered, mild in language and persuasive. The same rule applies to personal relations. In fact, letter writing, it is rightly said, has acquired the status of an art. (Source: Back cover of the book)
