The subject of green investments is currently a matter for much critical assessment and heated discussion across all asset classes. As the debate spills into the mainstream of the private equity and venture capital industry there is a need to determine a clearer picture of how institutional investors view green opportunities. To achieve this, New Energy World Network and Alt Assets undertook a survey of institutional investors that allocate capital to private equity and venture capital funds (and are referred to as Limited Partners or LPs). One hundred and ten active and influential LPs were asked about their levels of interest in investing in private equity or venture capital funds that are predominantly focused on the areas of clean technology, environmental technology, renewable energy and sustainability
