Summary: Ishanand Vempeny has been Professor of Indian Philosophy, Christian Religious Philosophy and Hindu-Christian Spirituality in various universities and academic centres. Now he is professor emeritus in Gujarat Vidya Deep (GVD) after teaching Indian philosophy and theology here for quarter of a century. He is one of the founding members of the Neo-Gandhian Second Liberation Front. After doing PG studies in Western Philosophy and Theology from Jnanadeepa, Pune, he has secured his M.A. in Indian Philosophy from M.S. University, Vadodara. He was awarded Ph.D. by Gujarat University, Ahmedabad for his comparative study on the Bhagavad Gita and the Bible. He has done yogic studies in Kaivalyadham, Pune and in Maharishi Institute, Rishikesh. He has attended psychological courses in various centres including EAPI, Manila and Sadhana Institute, Lonavala. He has authored in eight books in English and more than 50 articles for national and international periodicals excluding a number of books and articles in Gujarati and in Malayalam
