The first part of this book concentrates on the fundamentals of the language and takes students where they can write modestly sized programs using sequential files. Part two assumes competence in elementary COBOL and explains program design and other programming techniques which should be part of the professional programmer's repertoire. Part three extends the student's knowledge of the language by explaining some of the more advanced features of COBOL.
